4700 shooting days in the capital region, two dozen film awards, more than 24 million cinemagoers and temporarily fully booked studios. Kirsten Niehuus, the head of film subsidy, described the balance for 2015 of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg as „bombastic". One essential reason for the success was the production of the US series „Homeland", shooted in Babelsberg and Berlin. The box office hits of 2015 „Fack ju Göhte 2" and „Honig im Kopf" were also sponsored by Medienboard as well as the five most successful german films of the previous year. The work in the film region was rewarded with many awards: Four Oscars, five English film awards and a Golden Globe for „The Grand Budapest Hotel" (a coproduktion of Studio Babelsberg); six German film awards and the silver bear at the Berlinale for „Victoria".
