A year ago, the initiative „STARTBÜRO Babelsberg" has been launched. The team of Axel Ranisch's „Sehr gute Filme" had won the first round of applications and the opportunity to develop new projects in Babelsberg for a year. Now new tenants moved into the office in the house no. 8a on the backlot. Due to the success in 2015, this year even two teams will benefit from the funding that the initiators have increased. The two winning teams are the film project „Am Rande der Farben" by Isabell Suba and the documentary project „Wer war Dr. Dr. Lustig?" by Anna Levinson and their teams.
With their initiative „STARTBÜRO Babelsberg" Studio Babelsberg and  Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF  aim at fostering the cinema location's young talents supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH and Investitionsbank Berlin (ILB). The one-year project grant for former students of the Filmuniversität Babelsberg finances an office including basic equipment on the backlot, project funds as well as the option of accompanying advisory for one alumni project.
