filmwerte GmbH, based in Babelsberg, in cooperation with alleskino.de and funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg developed an app that offers users the possibility to explore prominent filmlocations in Berlin on an interactive map. Furthermore they are able to watch original scenes from movies, filmed at the location, on their smartphones or tablets.

Detailed background information on the locations are given as well as descriptions about where the camera was placed, so the users may find the exact place from where the scene was taken. In addition they can take a photo in-site that will be combined with an original movie in order to create a "location postcard" to save or to share with friends.

"Berlin on Film" is offered in German and English for free and is currently presenting 80 scenes from well-known Berlin-films. Moreover five location-tours are offered ("Kreuzberg", "Restaurants & Bars", "Mitte, " Brandenburger Tor", "Prenzlauer Berg" and "Zoologischer Garten"). The App was presented on occasion of Media Convention Berlin 2014.
