Filmpark Babelsberg celebrated its 25th birthday with a huge family party on the 12th of August. A great anniversary for one of the best known and most popular tourist destinations in the entire region. The special guests were mainly 600 socially needy families from all over Brandenburg, who otherwise would not be able to afford a visit to the filmpark. This way of celebrating corresponds to the special mentality of park CEO and founder Friedhelm Schatz. Among others he works closely with the Landesstiftung "Familien in Not" foundation for this.

But of course, the anniversary guests from politics, business and film were also present on this day. First and foremost, Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke, Mike Schubert, deputy of the state capital Potsdam and the director and Oscar-winner Volker Schlöndorff, who honored the ideas and the commitment of his friend Friedhelm as a stroke of luck for the media city of Babelsberg.
