Familien-Film-Live-Konzert: „Die unendliche Geschichte“
Films shape our idea of the past. They move emotionally, convey identity, they are an integral part of the historical-political education and don´t cease to stimulate social debates.
Today, historical topics find a surprisingly big crowd in cinema, television and streaming providers. What does that say about our culture? How do films influence our pictures of history? Which stories do they convey to the younger generations?
“moving history – festival of the historic film Potsdam“ is the first German festival that presents films with historical topics from the actual film and television production as well as from the whole film history to a wide audience. Margarethe von Trotta supports the festival as a sponsor and an advisor.
The first edition of the festival takes place between 20th and 24th of September 2017 at the Potsdamer Filmmuseum. It commits itself to the cinematic perception of the RAF.
Shown are fictional and documentary films from the past 50 years and current productions that are dealing with aspects of the development of the German left-terrorism and its influences, effects and consequences.
Also on the programme will be a masterclass, two workshop discussions and a symposium which will all deepen the topic history in film.
Starting now, employees from the history, film and media science; history, film, art and literature teacher; filmmakers, representatives of the film industry; representatives of the press can accredit for the festival.
