The Museum of Film Potsdam opens a new foyer exhibition on 23th March 2017. After the last year´s very successful special show “Only scenery?”, again the topic of scenography will find itself in the public spotlight for seven weeks. There are several synonyms for this field of activity: production designer, architect of film or scene builder. They all have in common that they create new worlds. Starting points are always location, time and characters as well as an action impetus.
Until 14th May, the new show “CREATING WORLDS. Through the eyes of Scenography” delivers insights into the way of working and projects of students from the Film University Konrad Wolf, offering the broadest scenography student programme in Germany. Here, the scenography studies exist since 25 years and 1991 Alfred Hirschmeier found the continuously developing advanced programme. At the moment, the MA programme extends its second digital focus with the MA Virtual Environment. Student´s short films will be shown at the opening of the exhibition and responsible scenographers will be present.
