After more than 20 years the Studio Babelsberg will start developing own productions again. Therefore, the production company Traumfabrik Babelsberg Gmbh was founded together with film producer Tom Zickler. Concrete projects have not been announced yet, but both directors Tom Zickler and Studio Babelsberg management Christoph Fisser are ambitious about developing especially German own- and co-productions.

As Tom Zickler has worked for the DEFA-Studio before his studies at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Babelsberg, it feels like „coming home“ for him. Together with Til Schweiger at their company Mr. Brown and later on at Barefoot Films the producer celebrated success with films like „Knockin` on Heavens Door“, "Barfuss", "Keinohrhasen", "Zweiohrküken", "Kokowääh", "Kokowääh 2", „Friendship!“ and "Honig im Kopf“. So, Christoph Fisser comments on Zicklers keen sense on talents and interesting projects and believes new productions and owning film rights to be essential for Studio Babelsberg.
